Meet Chana Golda bat Yael

Chana Golda bat Yael : Poet, singer, composer, voice healer made aliya from Paris in January 2000. Her never-ending vocal quest led her straight to the heart of Jerusalem. She studied yoga, meditation, Chi-kung, massage therapy, drumming and several vocal techniques such as classical and world style : private classes and workshops in France in classical and Indian singing, Academy of French songs in Paris, Oriental Music school of Jerusalem.  Leaving behind a career of professional singing and performing (French, Yiddish and Hebrew songs), she connected with her Jewish roots. Prayer invited her to a new path. Inspired by Hebrew letters and their ancestral vibrations, she waves a unique repertoire, influenced by her multiple roots and cultural background: African and Moroccan beats, resonances of the shtetl, jazz and blues. She had the privilege to be vocally coached in Jerusalem by the opera singer, musical and choir director Judi Axelrod.  She performs for women with original compositions on ancient and original Hebrew texts, reflecting her experiences and inner journey, as well as traditional songs in Ladino and in Yiddish. She leads workshops for women on how to discover the simplicity, the pleasure and the joy of singing : How to let the body and the soul sing in harmony.
